Old Friends are Often the Best Friends

This time of year we tend to both reflect on things we’re thankful for and meet up with people we haven’t seen in awhile. For this weekend’s Ten Things of Thankful blog hop, I’ll combine these two special things for a post about old friends. My husband’s good college buddy came over for dinner the other night with his wife and kids, giving us a chance to reconnect with him after many years apart. This dinner also provided me some good blog material:

My good friend from my college days also came for a visit last week, taking me to a concert I never would have attended by myself and we had a blast. Both of these events made me reflect on the last decade of my life as we moved around a bunch, losing old friendships along the way. It’s hard to maintain relationships as we get older, especially when one person moves away. But both of these people slipped seamlessly back into our lives with lots of laughter and fun. Here a video from the Matt Nathanson concert we went to. It was such a nice reprieve from my usual Friday night activities of laundry and blog reading {not that I don’t love your blogs, friends, but come on – every Friday night??}

So, it’s not a list of 10 this week, but it’s things I’m super thankful for, nonetheless. Have a great weekend, all!
